Terms
Last updated: 7 October 2026.
These terms apply when you use HelloBuys. HelloBuys is operated by ideator Pty Ltd (ABN 32 647 704 292), Sydney, Australia ("HelloBuys", "we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms.
1. What HelloBuys does
HelloBuys helps a seller and a buyer close the sale of a digital product that they have already agreed. The seller lists each item in the sale. The buyer checks each item. Both parties sign one purchase agreement. The buyer pays through Escrow.com. The seller hands over each item and the buyer confirms it.
2. What HelloBuys does not do
- HelloBuys is not a marketplace. We do not find buyers or sellers.
- HelloBuys is not a broker. We do not negotiate the price or the terms.
- HelloBuys is not an auditor. We do not value a project or verify its revenue, traffic or code.
- HelloBuys is not a party to your sale. The purchase agreement is between the seller and the buyer only.
- HelloBuys is not a law firm and does not give legal, tax or financial advice.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. Give your real name, because it appears on the purchase agreement. Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
4. The deal fee
Each party pays a fee of US$50 for each deal. Stripe processes the payment. The fee covers the purchase agreement, the background check and the handover record. The fee is not refunded when a deal is cancelled, because the work it pays for starts when you join.
5. Identity checks
A seller can ask both parties to verify their identity. Stripe Identity performs the check. We receive the result of the check. We do not receive or store your identity document.
6. The background check
We check public information about the project address, such as whether the site loads and when the domain was registered. The report is information only. It is not a guarantee about the project, the seller or the buyer. Make your own checks before you buy.
7. The purchase agreement
HelloBuys builds the purchase agreement from the list of items that the buyer approved. Read it before you sign. If you sign it, you sign electronically. We record your name, the time and your IP address with your signature. If your sale needs different terms, get advice from a lawyer before you sign.
8. Escrow and payment
Escrow.com, an independent escrow service, holds the purchase price. HelloBuys never holds your money. The terms of Escrow.com apply to the escrow transaction, and Escrow.com charges its own fee. Escrow.com releases the money to the seller 7 days after the buyer confirms the last item, unless the buyer reports a problem or releases the money sooner.
9. Handover and inspection
The seller hands over each item in the way the list describes. The buyer confirms each item when it is received. The buyer has 7 days after the last confirmation to report a problem. A reported problem stops the release until the item is handed over again and confirmed.
10. Cancelling a deal
Before the money is in escrow, either party can cancel the deal. After that, one party asks to cancel and the other party must agree. The money is not released while a cancel request is open. We cancel a deal that has had no activity for 7 days before the escrow step, after we warn both parties by email.
11. Your content and conduct
You are responsible for the items, descriptions and messages that you add. They must be accurate, and you must have the right to sell what you list. Do not use HelloBuys for anything unlawful, to mislead the other party, or to sell something that you do not own.
12. Disputes between the parties
A dispute about a sale is between the seller and the buyer. We can give both parties the records of the deal. We do not decide disputes. The dispute process of Escrow.com applies to money held in escrow.
13. Our liability
We provide HelloBuys as it is. We do not promise that a sale will complete, that the other party will do what they agreed, or that the information a party gives is correct.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost data or any indirect loss that comes from a deal or from your use of HelloBuys. To the same extent, our total liability to you for a deal is limited to the fees you paid us for that deal.
Nothing in these terms removes a right that the law does not allow us to remove, including your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
14. Closing your account
You can delete your account when all your deals are complete or cancelled. The other party keeps access to the records of deals you took part in, with your name. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms.
15. Changes to these terms
We can change these terms. If a change is important, we tell you by email before it applies. The terms in force when you sign a purchase agreement apply to that deal.
16. Governing law
The laws of New South Wales, Australia govern these terms. The courts of New South Wales decide any dispute with HelloBuys.
